Capital One Financial Corporation. The Group's principal activities are to provide credit card services, credit card loaned and certain consumer lending and deposit services. The Group operates in four segments: U.S Card, Auto Finance, Global Financial Services and Banking. U.S Card segment offers a variety of credit card products in the United States. The Group customizes the products to suit consumer needs by combining product features including annual percentage rates, fees, credit limits, reward programs and other features. Auto Finance segment provides finance for the purchase of new and used vehicles, as well as refinancing of existing motor vehicle loans. Global Financial Services segment manages installment lending, patient financing and other small business lending activities. The Banking segment manages legacy Hibernia business. The Group operates in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and South Africa. On 01-Dec-2006, the Group acquired North Fork Bancorporation Inc.
